Last night.

Last night, Rich, Tom, Brandon and I went and saw the Creepshow play here in our local city. FANTASTIC SHOW.

The first opening act was a local band I’d never heard of before (see previous post) called Slick Whippet. They were a fantastic rockabilly kinda band, and the singer had a great voice! They did original stuff and a lot of amazing covers, and the crowd was dancing around and having tons of fun to them. I’d love to see them again!

Next on the stage was a crazy one man show named B.A. Johnston. He was sort of a comedy act of sorts, but he was certifiably insane. He wore a sailor hat, a scarf around his neck and a sports jacket, and sang songs called “Your roommate is a kushhead,” “Jesus is from Hamilton,” and “PepNChed” and so many others I just can’t remember. He snot-rocketed the stage all set, and repeatedly ran around the crowd, jumping on the bar and rolling around the  floor. My friends loved him, they wanted desperately to drink with him, but he seemingly took off after his set.

The Creepshow came out at 11:30 and did an amazing set, playing songs from all of their albums. The crowd was awesome and I spent the night moshing and circling away. The band seemed less talkative this set than I’d seen them in the past, less joking around and such, but that’s all good. They encored with “Sleep Tight” which was fun, Rich spun me around and we danced :) I can’t wait to see them again soon!

It was Rich’s first time in a circle pit, Brandon showed up right after work so was definitely out there in a white button-up shirt and tie, and Tom left the show covered in someone else’s blood. Me? I took an elbow to the face! Good times.

That irritating moment when you see an awesome local band live, and then can’t find anything about them anywhere online.

No website, no show information, no music.

Damn it SLICK WHIPPET, where are you?
